Description
One of the most well-known and tasty kinds of Iranian date fruit in the world is the Kimia Date. Due to their high level of moisture, dates such as the Iranian Mazafati date aren’t used as nuts. A good portion of southern Iran is home to kimia date farms, however, the southern Iranian city of Bam is where most of them are farmed. Kimia dates are known for their juicy, sweet flavor.
Like the Mazafati date, the ripe Kimia date has a smooth texture and a dark purple color that tends toward black! Kimia dates are abundant in minerals, vitamins, fiber, antioxidants, and other nutrients, much like other varieties of date fruit, such as Mazafati dates.
